“Knowledge Hub” Center(RSUH) to host the School of Young Futurologists from December 1 to 5, 2025

“Knowledge Hub” Center of the Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH) to host the School of Young Futurologists from December 1 to 5, 2025, inviting participation of young scientists and experts from BRICS countries.

The “Knowledge Hub” Center (RSUH) presents The School of Young Futurologists (SYF), a flagship project implemented with support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. The SYF is the pinnacle of the Center’s long-standing efforts in building horizontal links and cooperation among international academic organizations, think tanks and expert communities. The initiative also draws from one of the largest sociological studies ever conducted within BRICS — a 2024 survey of 5,500 young people aged 18–35, carried out by the Center. The Center aims to strengthen the global humanities research infrastructure through ongoing dialogue and practical collaboration between young scientists and experts from BRICS countries.

The SYF program will include expert working sessions, interactive meetings with representatives of international academic and non-governmental organizations, futurological seminars with leading scholars in the humanities and interdisciplinary studies, as well as cultural events introducing participants to Russian history and traditions.

A total of 60 young researchers, scholars, experts and NGO representatives are set to participate, 35 from Russia and 25 from BRICS countries. Seven working sessions are to be held over four days, with participants presenting their projects and ideas in history, philosophy, political science, international relations, economics, cultural studies and the role of the humanities in space exploration.

Relevance of SYF 2025:

 A fruitful interaction between academic institutions, think tanks and civil society organizations representing different countries and civilizations has become increasingly relevant during times of global instability. SYF participants are to present ideas that promote constructive, cooperation-based projects and narratives, aimed to fulfill the civilizational potential of BRICS countries and to build an environment where each human being will have a chance to reach their intellectual and creative potential.

Key Objectives of SYF 2025:

  • To facilitate the much-needed evolution from seeking common ground between BRICS countries in scientific and technical cooperation – to ensuring an ongoing collaboration and the organization of joint projects;
  • To build a constructive shared vision of the future through the development of the individual and civilizational potentials and identities of our countries, and of knowledge and expertise across various academic fields;
  • To support and promote the initiatives proposed by young scholars and renowned experts;
  • To study human perceptions of the future;
  • To build a platform for a long-term collaboration and interchange of ideas between young BRICS experts.
  • To sign the BRICS International Charter of Young Futurologists, outlining principles and goals of the SYF for the next five years.
